Steel Industry Solution

Challenge:

The customer wanted to secure slit steel coils, stacked eye to the sky, to one another and tie stack to skid

 

Solution:

SMH-HVY with heavy-duty power roller conveyor top, accepting skids from customer’s slit coil turntable. Wulftec also controls customer’s existing power outfeed conveyor. Options included:

  • Split base
  • Powered roller top with 52” BFR and 6,000 lb capacity
  • Powered contour rollers to better convey narrow skids on and off turntable
  • Communication signals to customer’s existing infeed and outfeed conveyor
  • Deluxe control panel
  • Dual way wrap and dual pneumatic roping cylinder with special coil-tying program to secure coils to one another and tie stacked coils to winged skid
  • Separate potentiometer for film tension adjustment to allow operator to more easily adjust film tension during wrap cycle
  • Background suppression photoeye

WCRT-200 with extended carriage and heavy-duty Almac conveyors:

  • 40,000-lb. capacity process conveyor, 74 BFR, with 5 HP motor
  • Servo-motor unit with patented movable carriage
  • Dual roping cylinders
  • Dual boom mounted retro-flective PE
